The Cairnmead Mission

We simply and easily assist our clients with the relevant, hands-on application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and associated South African National Standards.

Cairnmead Industrial Consultants provide you with a unique consulting service in the Health and Safety discipline. We lead through simplicity and realise that safety doesn’t just come through knowledge, but through understanding. We seek to help our clients understand and we translate our vast knowledge and expertise into simple, useable information.

Every contractor taking on a project has the necessary documentation to ensure that the client is fully covered. We conduct documentation audits on all principal contractors and sub-contractors appointed on any project. We further manage the process with the tenants and their contractors in order to confirm that tenants fulfil their legal responsibilities.

We apply our discipline with the practical understanding of what is required in industry, as well as the theoretical knowledge that is attached to that practice.

Health and Safety Specifications / Baseline Risk Assessments / Plans
Since 27 February 2004, Cairnmead Industrial Consultants (Pty) Ltd has issued over 5,090. Health and Safety Specifications / Plans. From 2014, these Health and Safety Specifications have been issued with a Baseline Risk Assessment as per the legal requirements of the Construction Regulations of February 2014.

Incident Investigations
Mr C.P.J Lourens was appointed as the Investigator after the Kolonnade Shopping Centre Roof Collapse Incident, and completed the Investigation as his last task as a Senior Inspector for the Department of Labour. From 2004, Cairnmead Industrial Consultants have been appointed as Incident Investigator for various major and fatal Incidents.
