Unprotected openings in floors and shafts are serious hazards and put employees at risk of injury from falls. Fall injuries remain one of the highest risks on a construction site. Not only does the employer, contractor or owner has the responsibility to reduce the risk, but the worker also must remain vigilant and report hazards.
