Toolbox Talk – Safety Circle
This toolbox talk is focused on the safety circle. Site safety is both the responsibility of employers and employees. Employers are responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and adopting and implementing a safety program to protect workers from job hazards. But employers are not the only ones responsible for safety on the job, employees have responsibilities for maintaining a safe workplace as well.
The safety circle take a look at six elements within the Health and Safety Regulations Act, to ensure that each employee is safe on site. It takes a look at evaluation of risk that could occur on site and how to identify these risks. Along with other aspects such as providing training, legal instructions, enforcing measurements and taking control measures. Lastly it takes a look at providing reports when working on site. Every contractor employee is responsible for compliance with applicable safety and occupational health requirements, wearing their personal protective equipment (PPE), reporting all unsafe conditions/activities, and avoiding any actions and/or conditions that may result in an accident.
